Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 8, 2026
Last updated: April 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Fierce Love LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Mature Masculine website at maturemasculine.org (the "Website") and the Circles application (the "App"). The Website and the App are referred to together as the "Services."

We believe in plain language. If anything here is unclear, contact us at privacy@maturemasculine.org.

A note before we begin

The Services are tools for personal and group reflection on masculine archetypes, virtues, shadow work, and inner development. Some of what you share — through journaling prompts, Circles discussions, or your own notes — may be deeply personal. We treat that information with the seriousness it deserves and we collect as little of it as we reasonably can.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information. When you create an account on the App, we collect identifiers such as your name (or chosen handle), email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash).
  • Profile information. Optional details you choose to add, such as a photo, bio, location (city/region), or archetype interests.
  • Circles content. When you join or create a Circle, we store the messages, prompts, reflections, check‑ins, and other content you post in that Circle so other members can see them.
  • Journal and private notes. Anything you mark as private is stored in your account but is not visible to other users.
  • Communications. If you email us, fill out a contact form, or respond to a survey, we keep a record of that correspondence.

1.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Usage data. Pages visited, features used, time spent, referring pages, and similar diagnostic data.
  • Device and log data. IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and crash logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. The Website uses a small number of cookies and local storage entries — for example, to remember your light/dark theme preference and to power site search. The App uses local device storage to keep you signed in and to cache content for offline use. See Section 6 for details and choices.

1.3 Information from third parties

  • Authentication providers. If you sign in using a third‑party provider (such as Apple or Google), we receive the basic profile information they share with us (typically name and email). We do not receive your password.
  • Payment processors. If you purchase the deck, the book, or any other product, payment is handled by a third‑party processor (such as Stripe). We receive confirmation that a payment occurred and limited order details — we do not receive or store your full card number.

1.4 What we do not collect

  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your Circles content, journal entries, or private reflections to train machine‑learning models.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
  • Create and manage your account, including authenticating you across devices.
  • Deliver Circles features: showing your messages to other Circle members, sending notifications you've opted into, and matching you with Circles when you request that.
  • Respond to your questions and support requests.
  • Send essential service messages (for example, security alerts, password resets, or material changes to these terms).
  • Send optional newsletters or product updates — only if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Understand how the Services are used so we can improve them.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Services you've requested.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Services secure, prevent abuse, and improve features, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — for optional cookies, marketing emails, and any sensitive information you choose to share.
  • Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or using in‑Service controls.

4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:

  • With other Circle members. Content you post in a Circle is visible to the other members of that Circle. Think of a Circle the way you'd think of an in‑person men's group: assume that what you share will be heard by the other people in the room.
  • With service providers. We use vetted vendors for hosting, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, and payments. They may process information on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it's required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or us — including responding to lawful subpoenas or court orders.
  • In a business transfer. If Fierce Love LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With your consent. For any other sharing, we'll ask first.

5. Circles: special considerations

The Circles app is built around small‑group reflection and accountability. A few things to be aware of:

  • Other members can see what you post in a Circle. We can't control what other members do with what you share. Use judgment.
  • Circle moderators may see additional information about activity in the Circles they lead, such as who has checked in or who has flagged a post.
  • Reporting and safety. If you report a message or a member, we will see what you reported, who reported it, and the surrounding context, so we can investigate.
  • Leaving a Circle. When you leave a Circle, your past messages may remain visible to remaining members unless you delete them first or request removal (see Section 8).
  • Sensitive topics. Circles often discuss grief, addiction, sexuality, family conflict, and other sensitive subjects. Please do not share information about other people that they would not want shared, and do not treat anything in a Circle as confidential in a legal sense.

6. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

  • Strictly necessary. Items required for the Services to function (e.g., session/auth, CSRF tokens, theme preference). These can't be turned off without breaking the Services.
  • Analytics. We use privacy‑respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. If we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), IP addresses are anonymized and we do not enable advertising features.
  • Functional. Items that remember your preferences, such as your theme.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and you can opt out of analytics where applicable. Disabling cookies may degrade some features.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data: for as long as your account is active, plus a short period after deletion to handle disputes and recover from backups.
  • Circles content: for as long as the Circle exists, unless you delete individual messages.
  • Logs and diagnostics: typically 30–90 days.
  • Payment records: as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).

When we no longer need information, we delete or de‑identify it.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your account and associated personal information.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@maturemasculine.org or use the in‑App settings. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

California residents: Under the CCPA/CPRA, you also have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to opt out of "sharing" for cross‑context behavioral advertising (we do not engage in this), and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption of sensitive fields at rest, hashed passwords, access controls, and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

10. International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third‑party links

The Services may contain links to third‑party websites, products, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) and/or by posting a prominent notice on the Website and in the App before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when this policy was most recently revised.
