Bestowing Blessing
Conferring Recognition and Favor
Summary
The King bestows blessing—recognition, approval, and favor that empowers others to step into their fullness. His blessing confers legitimacy and worth.
"The greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention."
"A blessing is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal, and strengthen."
Bestowing Blessing
The King bestows blessing. His recognition confers worth. His approval empowers others to step into their gifts.
The Tyrant withholds blessing to control. He keeps others hungry for approval that never comes. Or he blesses only favorites, creating competition for his favor. The Victim has no blessing to give. He feels too small, too unworthy to confer anything on anyone. The Mature King blesses freely. His cup overflows.
Blessing includes:
Recognition: The King sees people. He notices their gifts, their efforts, their growth. Being seen by the King matters.
Approval: The King says yes. He affirms worth, validates choices, endorses paths. His approval gives confidence.
Encouragement: The King speaks to potential. He names what someone could become and expresses faith they'll get there.
Favor: The King opens doors. He shares resources, makes introductions, creates opportunities.
The father's blessing shapes a child's identity. Children who receive it know they're worthy. Children who don't spend lifetimes seeking it elsewhere. The wound of the unblessed runs deep.
Blessing flows from sovereignty. The King must own his throne before he can confer anything from it. A man who doesn't believe in his own worth cannot bless others with theirs.
The King who blesses well creates a realm of empowered people. His children know their worth. His partner feels cherished. Those he leads step into their gifts. His blessing ripples outward, multiplying as it goes.
Blessing is the King's duty and privilege. He has something precious to give. He gives it freely.
